So I see you've taken up the hobby of putting your fingers in your ears and believing only what you want. I've stated time and again that it isn't the faithful I hate, it's ignorance that I hate. Ignorance is, IMHO, the root of all evil. You failed to produce any argument what so ever in favor of teaching creationism. Why are you in this thread?

So any point made by you regarding religion, I disregard because they are fueled by nothing more than your hate. You have problems when in comes to accepting people wanting to believe in a religion. It is not your life.
Step 1) take your fucking fingers out of your ears.

Step 2) listen to what others have to say.

Step 3) make an educated argument.

Step 4) enjoy the fruits of not being a complete moron.

Step 5) thank me.

Does this affect you? Are you going to class this very day and being bombarded with Creationism ideology?
Yes. Did you read my original post?

The study of theology, as it stands in the Christian churches, is the study of nothing; it is founded on nothing; it rests on no principles; it proceeds by no authority; it has no data; it can demonstrate nothing; and it admits of no conclusion.

Butthair, and i mean this in as a respectful manner as possible, but sometimes it honestly seems like you come across as one that does have an avid distaste for religion and/or those that believe in it. Please prove me wrong and clarify your stance and why you do (if i'm correct) feel this way. Is it the number of hypocrites among us? Or the way some of us tend to "push" our religion on others? Maybe it has to do w/ the fact that some Christians think they are high and mighty and above everyone else for the faith they hold... Cause i will admit, there are a number of people out there that are like that and i've made my fair share of mistakes and displays of hypocrisy.

Prove he has hostility.

All I see is an idiot (JCabernathy) displaying unintelligence and rude remarks which Butthair was reacting to.

Nah, not just this thread but other posts made by him in multiple threads (i could go thread hunting if you want). Again, i'm not accusing him (cause i've made that mistake too many times before), i'm simply asking for him to defend and explain his stance on the question i asked... and to pretty much prove me wrong on my potential assumption of him.

Ah, I see.

As for Creationism, I really don't see a point in it's direct teaching in education.

Fact will be facts once theories have been proven, I see no justice being done if Creationism was to be pitched in public classrooms - just complicating the controversey.

Parallel universes are more interesting than God's D- for his Universe Science experiment. Since we can evidently believe what we want, I'll do that.

And in another universe, I won't do that.

And in another universe, I'll do neither.

See? It's fun.

In my universe, everything I believe is 100% correct, no matter how ridiculous it sounds!

By the way, I really get the feeling from this thread (and some others that I've been observing in the corner ) that most of the Christian support, with exception to Vrbas, is mostly based from ignorance.

If you are a Christian, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE DO NOT POST DUMB CIRCUMSTANTIAL ARGUMENTS THAT HAVE MAJOR FLAWS IN THEM. You may be a Christian, but it doesn't mean you gain my respect. Thanks!

separation of church and state!!!

evolution = no religious background, proven scientific findings, yada yada etc.
creation = BIG religious background, unproven arguments, no factual evidence, blah blah blah

shouldn't even be an argument because the u.s. has already determined NO church in schools =]

anyone who wants to argue that a CERTAIN belief system should be presented along with factual information should also want to include the belief system of EVERY other religion as well, and imho should be kicked in the tailbone

wait a second...how can people have tailbones if they dont have tails??? =p
(hope that doesn't go over anyone's head)

Ignore the non sequitur nature of this post:

Since you mathematics skills are well above those of anyone on this site, I have a task for you - set out to mathematically disprove String Theory. If you do, I'll fly you out from wherever you are, to wherever I am at the time, and we'll have a beer. One of three things will happen:

1) You won't strengthen or weaken String Theory, and no harm will come of it.

2) You'll weaken, or possibly disprove it altogether. If that happens, you'll free up hundreds (well, only a dozen or so are really working on String Theory) of the greatest living physicists to work on another aspect of physics. In that case, we all win.

3) You'll strengthen, or possibly demonstrate it to be correct. If that's the case, we all win.

Sorry about that rant/thing/request. You see, when nerds get drunk, we play board games, and when we play board games, we end up having what your average person would call a heated argument...but they aren't normal arguments. We argue about shit like whether or not String Theory should be called a theory, and whether or not it has any validity. And oh yes, at least 1 in every 3 nerds owns a white board, and when such discussions flare up, we break it out, and try to use it to prove out point. Sorry, I'm still a little steamed about losing in Monopoly (generally I'm good at it), but happy that I won The War on Terror. <----Not that great of a game. . .

His distaste could be perhaps completely perceieved due to the emotional attachment religion requires. This is precisely the reason someone gets offended when they are told that God or Jesus aren't real, and non-believers don't get offended when told that God and Jesus are real. Instead they just say "evidence?"
