Supermoon tonight? It looked amazing, but I didn't realize it was a supermoon.

Beautiful scenery.

Taken with my Galaxy s3 at Svalbard.

Some more from Svalbard, taken with an actual camera.
Spoiler!

That last photo is actually of a huge glacier

Got a question. I'm looking at getting a decent camera because I like taking pictures and wouldn't mind learning some editing stuff. Also my friend asked if I would do pictures of him and his band for stuff. Just got me thinking about getting my own camera.

Basically, what's a good started camera/lens if any that a newbie could go out and grab and not spend a fortune right off the bat.

Canon t3i, t4i, or t5i along with a cheap 50mm 1.8
Nikon D3100, D3200, D3300 with a cheap 50mm 1.8

Bare in mind that 50mm or crop censor camera is an equivalent to a 70mm on full frame (basically you are stand a little farther from your subject, depending what the subject is) I'm only suggesting prime lens because of my bias of them being faster and having the ability to absorb more light than zoom lens
