In what ways exactly? You do know it's based on Chris Kyle's book and actual events right?

Not saying it was realistic, I'm sure a lot of stuff was exaggerated, just curious which parts you found most unrealistic. And how much can you even trust the guy's writing anyway when he lied in his book multiple times and has been sued for it.

Just came back from American Sniper. I have to say it was a great movie. It seemed drawn out in a couple parts but it did a great depiction of war and the intensity of these situations. Did he suffer as serious of PTSD as the movie shows? Maybe not but I can easily understand why he would be so insecure whenever a lawn mower even starts.

Bradley nails the performance and gives off an actual Texan Vibe.

In no way shape or form does this movie ever really "Glamorize" any violence. The only part that would seem controversial was the slow-mo of the shot he took on the other sniper. But that's only because that was his shot that highlighted his name. It was necessary.

What I loved at the end was the silence and then everyone started clapping. I honestly have never seen a theater audience clap before.

The ending was short and abrupt, but very well done and powerful.

@Bromara I just felt that the portrayal of the Iraqis was a bit dehumanized, but what do I know. One good thing that the movie did was its powerful depiction of PTSD in our vets (almost like The Pacific).

Terrorists are naturally dehumanized. As for the normal families that aren't willing to send their kid out with an RPG, they coulda used maybe a bit more screen time.

Winter break was fun...

American Sniper - 7/10: Cool story and Bradley Cooper rocked it, but it felt a bit repetitive
Limitless - 8/10: Rewatched it, still great imo
Divergent - 5/10: Well-made I guess, but unoriginal and very predictable plot, not gonna watch the 2nd one cuz the main chick cut her hair
How to Train Your Dragon 2 - 9/10: As good as the first
Godzilla - 7/10: Average monster movie, kept me entertained but nothing special
Hall Pass - 2/10: Took me like 6 hours to watch cuz I kept getting bored. Saw some nice tits tho
22 Jump Street - 8/10: Fucking love Channing Tatum after the 1st one. Jonah Hill has improved
Boyhood - 3/10: Literally the story of a boy growing up. Cool that they kept the same cast but fuck it was a boring plot. Honestly the only thing I can think of as to why it was rated so high by critics is because they shared a similar upcoming to the main dude and reminisced.

Pretty sure that is why most people loved it. Very relatable movie for a large amount of people.

I fell asleep and my girlfriend said she forced herself to stay awake and finish it because she was hoping some sort of plot would develop... it never did.

Just got an advanced screen to Kingsman: Secret Service. Great flick, what a fun ride.
