Silva put on the greatest show I've ever seen in MMA for the first two rounds, but the last three rounds made me want to hate him.

Matt Hughes had a decent finish last night even though it was against some nobody.

that BJ Penn upset was just terrible. i don't even want to talk about that fight. i do think Frank Edgar deserved the win though..

and the Silva fight was just a disgrace to MMA. Anderson Silva is a great fighter but he's also a cocky asshole. i hope he fights GSP, but i doubt that will be anytime soon.

worst UFC event i've watched yet.

There have been much worse UFC events, so either you've only seen the best or you are exaggerating here.

I don't think he did. This is the math for me. On strikes, BJ hit him just as often if not more, and harder. Edgar got 1 and a half takedowns, but BJ stuffed at least 5 to 6 takedowns. How one judge had the fight 50-45 is just beyond me. You might could give edgar the 4th and the 5th was his strongest round, but the first 3 went to BJ on my score card.

When Machida "won" against shogun, the justification of it by joe rogan was that you had to "beat" the champ and Shogun hadn't done enough. Using that logic there's no way Edgar should have the belt.

I enjoyed the first part of the silva fight, but the 4th and 5th rounds were pretty bad. I honestly think silva and his ppl have some scheme where they bet on the fight going 5 rounds. There's no other excuse for it. At the post-fight conference he said Maia disrespected him, thats bs. He also so did this stuff with thales leites too. I think we'll see dana institute a yellow card system where inactivitly would result in a loss of some of the purse like they had in Pride after this fight.

Quote:
ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates . As the fourth round ended in the middleweight championship fight on Saturday at UFC 112 at Ferrari World, Ultimate Fighting Championship president Dana White picked up Anderson Silva’s title belt and tossed it in the direction of Silva’s manager, Ed Soares.

White was nearly becoming physically ill watching Silva clown in the cage and avoid fighting. He wanted nothing to do with presenting the champion with his belt after the fight with Demian Maia ended.

White seethed at the postfight news conference and tossed verbal hand grenades in Silva’s direction. After meeting with reporters following the news conference, White headed to Silva’s trailer for a showdown.

He said he didn’t know how he would punish Silva, who won by scores of 50-45, 50-45 and 49-46, but said he would find a way to make it up to the fans for having to sit through such a poor, confounding main event.

Perhaps the best way White can get even with Silva, who was defiant at the postfight news conference, is to have Silva fight on the card he is planning to benefit the military in Afghanistan.

White looked extraordinarily angry when he walked into the room and didn’t pull any punches when he began to speak.

“I’ll answer the questions about what a disgrace the main event was and what an embarrassment it is,” White said almost immediately upon taking the lectern postfight. “I don’t think I’ve ever been more embarrassed in 10 years of being in this business. It’s the first time I’ve ever walked out of a main event.”

Silva cost himself a big chunk of his reputation as well as a lot of money. He lost the respect of the ownership of the UFC, who were embarrassed in front of their new partners, the investment group from Abu Dhabi who bought a reported 10 percent of the company.

He may have lost his status as the top pound-for-pound fighter in the world.
He lost his opportunity to drop to welterweight as he said he wanted to do before the fight and challenge 170-pound champion Georges St. Pierre.

“He doesn’t deserve to fight GSP,” White fairly spat.

Early in the news conference, White said Silva might become the first champion to fight on the preliminary card.
That said, i still like silva. He's fun to watch even with the occasional showboat performance. He'll probably be fighting chael sonnon next, and i'm already looking forward to silva destroying him.

Frank Edgar won every round man. that's how the judges scored it. he deserved the win. it was a unanimous decision.

i still like Silva as a fighter, but i don't like his attitude towards those he fights. he turns the fight into a joke.

Gawd damn I feel for him. If I was the owner of a business and someone embarrassed me and my business that bad in front of a new crowd, I would fucking fire the guy.

I enjoy Silvas talent and ability to out class everyone but god damn he seriously needs to be dropped out of the UFC.

You must not know much if you think Renzo is a nobody. He comes from the Gracie family, his grandfather or some sh.t invented BJJ. It's just Hughes fighting someone way out of their prime and like, what? 8 years older? I also think Edgar just had a good game plan going into the fight, just like he did with Sherk. He deserves that belt, but it sucks to see Penn loose. He'll come back. I say Edgar fights Maynard next, after Maynard gets another fight in that IS NOT a f..kin' lame ass decision. He has eight f..kin' decision wins out of 11. Maynard is the only fighter to defeat Edgar..by decision.

During TUF, Penn coached Maynard..Edgar only lost to Maynard. If Maynard fought again and finished the fight or at lease dominate the fight, and fights Penn later on for #1 spot..it would be fighter vs fighter/ former coach! haha that would be sick

To whoever said that Silva should be kicked out, you're a total idiot. Just 'cause Silva might of looked like a clown during the later rounds does not mean he should be fired. He brought a sh.t load of money to the UFC, you can't argue about that. He beats the sh.t out of people like nobody else can.

I'll edit after I watch the Silva fight. EDIT: Looks like it will be a while, 'cause MMA-Core is f..ked! And when Silva got on his on knee, it looked like he was wanting to propose to Maia. hahahah
