I still have a photo of Tyler and I at MLG Dallas in 06. Lmao, back when B SiK and Arkive and a bunch of other oldfags were my myspace friends. Seems like a century ago. Actually, I brought a friend with me that day, I'm sure B remember's him. His name's John and he programs and can develop mobile apps.

Of course. I am still friends with John on Facebook. Last I heard, he was going hard in MMA or some other variant. I just remember that he was better than me at flipping.

Great dude.

Nothing released, nothing remotely done. I just tool around in it as a hobby. I'm proficient, and could probably get a position as a junior developer if I were to give up my current career path, but 80 hour weeks aren't really something I want to do. Right now I'm focusing on Rails though.

Elaborate on Rails for me if you don't mind.

Also, any experience with Xcode? Or do you stay away from macs?

Edit: I understand its Ruby on Rails, but do you use it for software development or server engineering? Or am I way off here

Rails is a web framework for Ruby. Ruby is a very good language, and Rails is a framework that enables writing web apps in Ruby that hook into databases and generate dynamic views. It's like a library, providing a shitload of very useful functions to do things automagically. At some point I'll have to learn javascript so I can use jQuery more better.

Xcode looks...like most non-Visual Studio IDEs (granted, JetBrains makes some good ones). I can't recall anyone but Apple trying to sell people on Xcode. For Ruby things I'd generally rather use Vim, but VS is really, really good for the .NET family. Intellisense is just amazing, and plugins like Resharper are indispensable.

I wouldn't say I stay away from Macs, but I definitely stay away from the Apple ecosystem (Xcode, Objective-C, etc).
