6'-6'1'' here, don't know what kind of regional shitbus you are flying, I got like 2 feet of head clearance in an A310. In MsTk's case, she'll probably be on a 777 or 747, which has even more room.

Every time I've sat aisle I've had issues. On my LA flight I had been up for some 40 hours before boarding, and was passing in and out on my last leg, I would of fallen fast asleep if it weren't for a cart that keep clipping my elbow every 20 minutes. Being woken up like that in such short succession in a shitty, pressurized cylinder can be a bit disorientating/infuriating. In the most recent case where I gave up my seat, same shit happens plus I get brushed by every overweight person on their trip to and from the bathroom. Just not my scene, being an ass scratch pad for anyone with a 40''+ waist.

If I'm going to board something that is going to ferry me some 30,000 ft in the sky at some 500 mph, placing my life on how air fucking hits it right, I at least want to witness it ya know?

That was unrestrained cargo. The plane was fine, but when your center of gravity suddenly shifts behind your center of lift, that will happen. I don't know where you are getting that factoid, but it isn't true and there are plenty examples from this year. While landings will always be the riskiest part of flying, the air is dangerous.

Spoiler!

Be what kind of person? It's assigned seating. Don't like your seat? Go cry somewhere else and hope for a better seat on the next flight. I'm not going to allow someone to brow beat me out of a seat that I chose and that allows me to be comfortable on a long flight.

Not my first time flying, flew frequently and s a kid and my grandpa owned a small plane that we went in weekly. But I've never flown longer than 3hrs, so first international long flight and first flight overnight and first flight with rain (eek). Usually I like to sit on the wing but I predict I'll be up all night and want some breathing room (general anxiety) and be able to get up as much as possible. Tried to get as close as possible to the front since I know it's best for turbulence too, not scared about a plane going down with that but I don't like strong dips. I have a weak stomach with that stuff.

Head clearance isn't my problem, It's my knees being inside the seat in front of me if I'm not on the aisle. Flying out of Phoenix cross country yearly from age 4 I've flown on a fair number of both Airbus and Boeing models and it's a problem in everything save the 747 I took from LA to Hawaii.

yea i know that it was a cargo ship. all i meant is that your highest chance of crash is within the first/final 5 minutes, i believe. no source but heard it from somebody i consider credible.

Mine is a 747, I'm short (5'2") but hate being cramped.

Also fuck you guys, don't tell me all this shit lol. It's always in the back of my head and I don't want a panic attack. I was telling the guy "good thing is that my seat is near the front exit door." "That doesn't matter, if it's going down its going down. You're dead" "I meant to get off the plane faster when it lands you dick". Bad energy in the universe, do not want.

Well highest chance is different than any chance. I just found that previous statement hard to believe when Air Asia has been on the news for months. While unlikely, it's that naivete that has cost the lives of pilots and their crew. The sky is an ocean of moving air, and while crafts anymore are designed to have a tolerance to updrafts and other turbulence, the pilot can still make the wrong choice, devices can still malfunction.

With all this being said, I'll advocate air travel any damn day. I'll gleefully surrender control to a pilot, not that you really have any control over your life when you are driving anyway. I consider myself a great driver yet my life is still some asshat's decision to blow a red light away. Try and relax, you put yourself at more risk every day without realizing it.

Walked in on my brother making a "jailhouse spread". Beef ramen with cut up pickles, cut up hot dog, and then a mix of crushed Cheetos and Fritos thrown in. :vomit:
