Default The Illuminati...

Well, to be honest with you I'm not entirely sure who they are, if they even exist, or what their purpose is. I was wondering if we could begin a bit of a discussion regarding this supposed secret organization that "runs the show" behind the scenes.

Is anyone aware of this group, and if so, what do you think is the truth?

Claims about the Illuminati or Freemasons are always dubious. I don't know shit about the Illuminati, but I do know that Freemasons existed (and still exist today), and many of the founders of our country were Freemasons, but they weren't the wild and crazy power mongers that conspiracy theorists make them out to be. Essentially, they are just people who pledge to be an upstanding citizen of civilized society.

CHEM TRAILS!?!?!? Common man, you can't be so fucking stupid. What are the two major constituents of burning any fossil fuel - carbon dioxide, and water vapor. If, at the altitude the jet was flying at, there isn't a lot of wind, the water vapor can stay there for days at a time. 'Chem trails' look identical to high altitude clouds because they're composed of the exact same thing - water.

BTW, how could that much Barium have accumulated in the amounts shown? Did all the Barium from the jet fuel happen to fall in that guy's backyard? That's so damn shady it isn't even funny. How did he collect it all in jars? Did you see how much water from the chem trails he had? Total BS.

Mind control is also BS. I'm so sorry you feel the need to wear your tin foil had everywhere you go. Watch out - there's a secret camera in your room. Sorry, but the government loves to watch you masturbate.

Secret government programs like what were described are no secret. The military pursued an actual factual gay bomb (I am not joking), where enemy combatants would be sprayed with heavy amounts of chemicals that would encourage them to make love, rather than war. However, the problem of dispersal derailed the project. As is the case with chem trails, you just can't disperse a chemical in the air with any effectiveness. The vast majority of 'drugs' need to be ingested, not inhaled.

There are a few claims to a very early Church society by Montanus, calling themselves "The Illuminati". It was recorded by the historian Eusebius, "who best illustrates Montanus's extraordinary gifts, describing how converts underwent all manner of religious experiences including 'speaking in tongues' and receiving apocalyptic visions. ... This form of of illuminism flourished for several centuries, particularly in Asia Minor, before gradually diminishing until, in the ninth century, it died out altogether."(1)

They pretty much weren't heard of or spoken of until in the 15th and 16th century Spain, a group known as the Alumbrado(which roughly translates as 'Illuminati') pulled onto the scene. Their philosophy was throwing out the observance of liturgy and all other forms of outward religious adherence, along with claiming direct communion with the Holy Spirit. They chilled for a while up until the Inquisition trumped 'em out.

Now, I give thee, o' great court of Halo3Forum Debaters, the real Illuminati...

Adam Weishaupt. If you get one thing out of this, get this! He was raised by a small group of Jesuit priests in Ingoldstadt, Bavaria. He later became a professor at the University of Ingoldstadt. He was a extremely intelligent, and a born leader, but he was a Socialist in a not just a Capitalist state, but a non-Socialist one at that. Not everyone was mad at him, for soon he had followers and disciples.

The Illuminati were originally called the 'Order of Perfectibilists'(random side note). In 1777, Weishaupt was invited to a Freemasonry lodge in Munich. He joined, that much is known, but most of his time was demanded by the Illuminati. Their doctrine was a mixture of "Islamic mysticism, Jesuit mental discipline and some of Freemasonry's own teachings."(2)

I'll skip some and give you the story of how they became outlawed in Bavaria. Like I said before, Weishaupt and the Illuminati were placed in an extremely conservative state and one that was dominated powerfully by the Catholic church. Thus it can be concluded that the Society's radical rationalism would not be accepted. The Society was banned in 1784 and Weishaupt fled to Gotha to escape persecution and arrest, and to lead the Illuminati farther.

That's about it. The came, they saw, they were banned, they fled, they were said to have reestablished in Rome, and they've been making legends ever since. I hope that helps.

(2) Ibid. Page 14.
A few other, very old books unlike the above one but are mentioned in it, are Ecclesiastical History by Eusebius, Bishop of Caesarea (c. AD 264-340), Proof of the Illuminati by Seth Payson (published in 1802), Memoirs Illustrating the History of Jacobinism by Abbe Augustin Barruel (published in 1797), and Proofs of a Conspiracy Against All Religions and Governments of Europe by John Robison (published in 1797).

I hope one day to read them all. lol.

the freemasons is kinda like the rotarian clubs nowadays.
my dad got invited to the freemasons and is already a rotarian, the only difference is there's more of an idea behind it with the freemasons.

I would say there's not anything too f..ked up going on these days, maybe some people that would do f..ked up sh.t either way and use it(membership of 'mysterious/secret' brotherhood) as a means.
Not the sh.t you read in theories and books.

There are a lot of Freemasons around, but they're not secret anymore. The 'welcome to mycity' sign has a Freemason's symbol on it, and there's a Freemason club here as well.

The Illuminati was a secret society for heretics and scientists. Galileo was allegedly a notable member as well as Francis Crick. Illuminati means "enlightened one." As in, science frees the mind from the dogma of religion. It may very much sound like an atheist overtone but more members were religious and were only reacting to extreme Catholic rule and violent acts against science and its pursuers. The Illuminati's symbol today can be seen on the back of the dollar bill.

At least, that's what the history channel said. That's about as much as I remember but there was a bit more to it, like notable figures, the actions of the Illuminati, and details about the Illuminati.

It was not a conspiracy. It was not a NWO organization.

That's how people are starting to learn about them. Through that book. It's actually pretty decent, but I haven't read all the way through.

In the books I've read that specifically deal with The Illuminati, nothing is discussed on their scientific agendas, or wanting to topple the Church primarily. They wanted to topple the government, which in Bavaria was the Catholic church, and work behind the scenes. Much like Sergey Nechayev's objectives in Russia later in the late 19th century. But there really isn't any mention of 'Scientists rallying underground to overthrow Church state'.

Dan Brown put an interesting spin on it, but I've yet to find a non-fictional source on his knowledge of them. I might be missing a whole thing on where Dan Brown finds his information but if you happen to know what he's talking about, please message me every single link you can give. Honestly, my word is only two books and a fallacious Fundamental textbook(I hate that book).
