true, the characters were plain. though during the movie it didn't really bother me a lot, i was hoping they would give the characters more depth. idk they were really blank

I saw Hausu (1977) earlier today. Absolutely bizarre and very odd. Since I've been going through lots of more "classic" movies over christmas this was a really fresh experience. The visual style is really awkward (intentionally) but it's really stimulating to watch something so different. Had a few good laughs whilst watching it because of how it's made. Heart in the right place and intentionally "bad". I really enjoyed it.

I can't really explain this movie, it's impossible. So here's a picture from it that sums it up.
Spoiler!

Rush is the best movie of the year no one is talking about. A bit frustrating.

Haven't seen Rush but was it better than/how does it compare to 12 Years a Slave?

That's by far the best movie I've seen in 2013.

People are talking about 12 Years a Slave.

Rush is a movie about a Formula 1 racing rivalry in 1976 between two drivers. I think that is why its getting overlooked, similar to Warrior and UFC.

Surprised to see Gravity at second place. I too enjoyed it a lot but in retrospective there were imo a lot of flaws with it. Disregarding that it was an absolutely gorgeous movie, the visuals and shots were done very professionally but there's a few things I'd love to have been changed.

Spoiler!

Those things aside I really liked it though, the first act of the movie was phenomenal.

yeah Rush got really high ratings, but since i am not really into the racing thing, im not sure its for me. it is a biography so i guessed it was just a lot of races, and some talking about the racers.

if i am not even close tell me, might see it then.

It's not a documentary. It's an actual movie, based on real life.
