Default Need help connecting Ubuntu to college network

So, I just finished building a pc, and installed Ubuntu about 4 hours ago. I then realized i had no clue how to set up the Cisco VPN Client on a non windows system. Ive done a ton of reading in the past few hours, but im extremely new to Linux stuff and i feel like im missing out on some main points.

Here are a few links which i found sort of useful. I bet someone more knowledgeable would get more out of them than me.

https://help.ubuntu.com/community/VPNClient

In this link i had a hard time figuring out where the add/remove applets thing was. so that kind of put a wall up on that approach.

https://wiki.ubuntu.com/VPN

I downloaded the vpn client network manager files and put them on my pc, but when i typed in the code it would say unable to find directory.

and here are just a few other links i saved:

Any help would be nice, but if nothing comes up i will just head to the school IT department and hopefully they can straighten it all out.

This completely depends on the college network (try asking them). What do you need the cisco vpn client for?

If you have a username and password my university uses Tunneled TLS with mschap v2. Ubuntu comes with a connection manager that should have whatever encryption they have available. Add/remove is under the applications menu at the top.
