Default Question about internet speed.

Alright I'm just curious about how the adapter, router, and modem affect internet speed.

Does having newer, more expensive products, increase the speed?

For example, I am using a relatively small adapter right now because of it's size.

What would happen if I upgraded that?

It all depends. If your paying $20,000 a month for the fastest internet in the world and hook that up to a shitty router then yes it will make the connection suffer. But hooking a $200 router up to a $10 a month shitty internet connection is not going to increase speeds.

You might be paying your internet service provider for 20MBPS and your router can stream 100mbps. Doesnt matter because you only have 20mbps to actually send out.

Yesterday I switched my modem->router set up to only one modem/router.
My dl speed went from ~10Mb/s to 19Mb/s so I think less is more.
